Shooting for Avengers Infinity War is taking up majority of the Russo Brothers’ time. However, that does not stop them from looking ahead for future projects.
A recent report from The Wrap detailed that Joe and Anthony Russo will serve as executive producers for the TV adaptation of Quantum and Woody. The duo will develop the series with Valian Entertainment while they join Mike Larocca and Dinesh Shamdasani as EPs.
Meanwhile, another duo from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will join the brothers in executive producer duties. According to the source, Ant-Man‘s Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari will also serve as EPs. Both will also work on writing for the pilot.
The project marks the Russo Brothers’ return to television. Before moving on to bigger projects with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Russos worked heavily for TV. Their most notable work on the small screen involved directing for episodes of Arrested Development which earned them an Emmy award.
About Quantum and Woody
Quantum and Woody is a comic series that hails from Valiant Entertainment. Valiant Universe’s official website offers the following description for the series:
“Once upon a time, Eric and Woody Henderson were inseparable. Adopted brothers. Best friends. Brilliant minds. Years later, they are estranged siblings, petty rivals, and washed-up failures. But when their father’s murder leads them into the throes of a life-altering scientific accident, Eric and Woody will find themselves with a whole new purpose – and a perfectly legitimate reason to wear costumes and fight crime.”
Quantum and Woody joins the long list of comic book series getting a TV adaptation. Recent series who got the TV treatment include Marvel’s Inhumans, Cloak and Dagger and Riverdale–based on the Archie Comics.
Avengers Infinity War Updates
With Marvel’s dedication to keep spoilers at bay, updates about Avengers Infinity War are scarce. Nevertheless, a bit of information recently surfaced.
It appears Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the MCU, won’t appear in the third Avengers movie. ComicBook.com relayed the actor’s quote about his involvement with the upcoming film:
“I don’t know. I’m asking you; I’m hoping you know maybe something I don’t know. Am I in that movie?”
The reporter who asked the question apparently read on IMDb that Jackson’s name is credited for Avengers Infinity War. With this, the actor says not to believe IMDb.
It remains to be seen whether Jackson will indeed appear or not. However, confirmed stars for the movie include Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Paul Bettany, and Elizabeth Olsen, among others.
Avengers Infinity War releases in 2018. Meanwhile, stay tuned for more news on the upcoming Quantum and Woody series here at GoshTV.
