The identity of this season’s main villain has finally been revealed. Fans now know who the person behind the mask is from the recent Arrow season 5 episode 15.
There were earlier speculations that the villain could be a woman. Now, Prometheus has been unmasked and he is indeed Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra). However, Team Arrow remains in the dark of his identity.
Here’s a quick Arrow season 5 episode 15 recap. The Star City Council’s convened a mayoral impeachment hearing. Adrian offered to take the fall for Mayor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). He resigned and Oliver asked him to be his lawyer for the impeachment proceedings.
At the hearing, a medical examiner testified about falsifying the autopsy results because Adrian told her that the mayor wanted it done. Captain Pike also testifies that the mayor is protecting the Green Arrow after Prometheus manipulated him.
Meanwhile, the Vigilante fires on Oliver’s car. At the limo crash site, Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) found a piece of the Vigilante’s visor. However, Adrian took it to put evidence into himself even before Team Arrow can examine it, Entertainment Weekly noted.
Oliver decided at the end to sacrifice his alter ego and blame the Green Arrow for the death of Detective Billy Malone (Tyler Ritter). In a press conference, the mayor explained to the public that he was protecting the city from the truth that Green Arrow had become a cop killer and had failed this city.
“The truth is that the Green Arrow has gone rogue. Green Arrow is not a hero. He is what’s keeping Star City from being the best it can be.”
Susan (Carly Pope) then met Oliver at his office to inform him that an anonymous hacker confessed on planting the plagiarism evidence on her computer. The reporter got her job back and believes that Oliver has nothing to do with the hacking. Susan agreed to keep Oliver’s secret and rekindle their romance.
