There is no news yet on whether an Agents of SHIELD season 5 will happen. However, it seems like the series will continue to live on in Marvel’s Inhumans as an artifact connects both series.

A report from Screen Rant details that set photos from Marvel’s Inhumans revealed a connection to Agents of SHIELD. The source cites Twitter user Carlos Robles (@CrlRbs) who shared the set photos. In the photo shared by Robles, alien writing heavily featured in season 2 of SHIELD appears to be used for Inhumans.

The Twitter user then captions the photos with the hashtag #ItsAllConnected. When a follower asked where the photos came from, Robles specified they were from the Inhumans set in Hawaii.

Although SHIELD was the first show to introduce Inhumans to television, it’s still interesting for fans to learn that the new show will somehow acknowledge the world of Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). However, since Marvel and ABC did not confirm a connection between the shows, best to take this information with caution.

Chances for an Agents of SHIELD Season 5

Agents of SHIELD season 4 is currently on hiatus. It returns in early April with the season’s third and final pod. Although the fourth season started strong with the entry of Gabriel Luna’s Ghost Rider, sources expressed their uncertainty over a season 5 renewal.

According to an article from TVLine back in February, the show’s chances for renewal is at fifty-fifty. On one hand, the source explains that the show has a lot of good characters to root far which may just extend its run.

On the other hand, TVLine also explains that the show can only do so much with the story of battling villains. There comes a point where the narrative just becomes repetitive.

The source also highlights that the biggest threat to the show is the Nielsens. Agents of SHIELD‘s season 4 ratings are down to 33 percent from last season.

Whatever the outcome may be, fans will know the show’s fate when ABC makes their official announcement. Networks usually announce their renewals and cancellations in mid-May.

Season 4’s Final Pod

Before the show went on hiatus, Agents of SHIELD revealed that all agents–except for Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and Jemma (Elizabeth Henstridge)–had LMD replacements in place to work within the organization. The real bodies of the agents were under the simulation of the Framework.

It is up to the female duo to save their companions. Agents of SHIELD season 4 returns on April 4 at 10 p.m. in ABC. Stay tuned for more news whether Agents of SHIELD season 5 pushes through.
