SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris, together with Suicide Squad starrer Common and Sophia Bush, announced on Dec. 14, 2016, the nominees for the 2017 SAG Awards. Here are the names.
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or a Limited Series
Bryce Dallas Howard — The 35-year-old actress is a nominee under this category for her Black Mirror episode titled Nosedive. The episode showed the audience the life of today with all gadgets and social media, which appeal to people. No doubt, the Jurassic World actress definitely knows her craft!
Other female nominees for this category are Sarah Paulson (The People v OJ Simpson: American Crime Story), Felicity Huffman (American Crime) and Audra McDonald from Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or a Limited Series
Riz Ahmed — The 34-year-old actor was nominated for his role in the series The Night Of. His other prominent performances are in films Jason Bourne and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Bryan Cranston — The 60-year-old actor is a nominee under this category for his film titled All the Way. His role as Walter White in the hit series Breaking Bad, originally broadcasted on AMC network, also gave him recognition.
John Turturro — The 59-year-old actor was nominated for his portrayal in the HBO series The Night Of. He is best known for his portrayal in the 1998 indie film The Big Lebowski.
Sterling K. Brown and Courtney B. Vance — Both actors were nominated for their performances in The People v OJ Simpson: American Crime Story. Brown was recently seen as one of the cast in hit TV series This Is Us, while the latter also starred in Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
